Tipping the Scales

My hunter (Gideon) in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, after slaying Gore Magala. Title is the name of the quest.

Where's his weapon? NO ONE KNOWS. (jk I was just already frustrated enough that I didn't want to draw another thing. I use Charge Blades though which is why his right arm is bruised instead of bloody - that's his shield arm!)

So I started the basic lineart on this like nine thousand years ago but never could figure out the background or how to make him sit or wtf he was doing. Fast forward to me writing out some MH fic and Justin comments on one part of it saying HAY YOU SHOULD DRAW GIDEON DOING THIS THING and I was like I HAVE JUST THE WIP FOR THIS so there you go.

The background is still ass. The colouring is ass. The pose is too stiff (and ass)(also yes I did reference That One Deus Ex picture). But hey I like his torso and arms and tattoo so Iguessthere'sthat.jpg. I'm just glad it's not stuck in my WIP folder anymore!
